Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children: Series

By: Ransom Riggs

I love this series.  It is so well written, with interesting plots and good world building.  It is so creative, the author takes images he finds at yard sales and other places and creates a story out of them.  It is so cool!  I would highly recommend this series to really anyone!-Norah

The Verdigris Pawn

By: Ayla Wishingrad

I, for one, don't usually read Fantasy books, but I really enjoyed this one. The relationships in this book seemed really realistic, and it basically felt like you were in the story. If you're looking for something that has highs and lows in the story, then this would definitely be a good book to try. -Allie

Fablehaven: Rise of the Evening Star #2

By: Brandon Mull

I loved this whole series, but the second book was my favorite. The characters went on amazing adventures and seemed pretty real.  After the first book, Sadie, Seth, and Grandpa Soren went on adventure after adventure trying to stop the society of the Evening Star. I would really recommend this book to anyone! -Jack

The Phantom Tollbooth

By: Norton Juster

I originally read this book a couple of years ago and I  honestly loved it. I just reread it for the third time this weekend and it was still so good! There aren't many books that can keep my attention for even one reread, but this story has managed to continue to be interesting every time I read it. It's an Alice in Wonderland - esque book and it's simply odd and wonderful. Even though this book is a juvenile fantasy book, I would recommend it to readers of all ages looking for a pretty quick, fun read. -Allie

Archenemies: Renegades #2

By: Marissa Meyer

The Renegades series is a brilliant new take on the world of superheroes. The first book features a syndicate of superheroes- the Renegades- who emerged from a society that was in the midst of anarchy. They established peace, order, and justice, and now are the exalted leaders of Gatlon City. But Nova seeks revenge on the Renegades as a villain that they once overthrew. And she has good reason to hate them. On her mission for vengeance, she meets a Renegade boy who makes her question her beliefs and allegiances. But Nova is loyal to a powerful villain who seeks to end the Renegades. The Renegades series truly whisks you away to another world, with vibrant setting and characters. And the theme is masterfully woven into the story in a way that's poignant and thought-provoking. I would consider both books easy reads, although they are quite long. But it's worth it. This is a series for anyone, regardless of whether or not you're a lover of superheroes or science fiction. -Gea

The Nest

By: Kenneth Oppel

The Nest was really good. I loved how the author used fantasy to get her point across. There was a lot of plot twists around the characters. One negative is at first it is confusing but once you get into the story it is really good. People should totally read this book. -Anonymous

The City of Ember: Book #1

By: Jeanne DuPrau

I loved the idea of a society living underground, with a lot of mystery. It was a bit slow, so if you like more fast-paced books you wouldn't love it as much. But,  I loved all the secrets that unfolded during the book. What I also liked about this book is there was no romance, and I'm not a big fan of it. Overall I really enjoyed the book.-Lena
This book was so slow and painful to read.  Save yourself the trouble and pick a different book.  I mean this book was a STRUGGLE to get through.  Nothing happens the first 80% of the book and then you are left with a cliff hanger!  I didn't even bother trying to finish the second book, it was even slower.-Norah

If you like other Rick Riordan books you will probably love this book.  -Mackenzie

Percy Jackson: Series

By: Rick Riordan

I loved the Percy Jackson series as well as the sequel Heroes of Olympus series.  It was a unique, and modern take on classic greek stories.  Rick Riordan blends humor and thriller flawlessly.-Norah
I'd give this book a 4 out of 5 because the story starts off slow but then it gets very interesting. I like how in this series, new main characters (and sometimes animals) are being added every book.-Mackenzie

By: Jen Calonita

N.E.R.D.S: Series

By: Michael Buckley

This series is a combination of middle school drama and sci-fi.  It is about these kids with a social status of nerds that have been injected with tiny robots to turn their greatest weakness into a superpower.  It is very good.-Norah

Dragon Slippers: Series

By: Jessica Day George

This is by the same author as Tuesday's at the Castle  it is about a girl that befriends the king of dragons and her attempts at bring peace to the humans about dragons.  It is super good the one thing I will say is that how old the main character is caused me some confusion.-Norah

The List

By: Patricia Forde

I enjoyed this book because I hadn't read anything like this before. It was really unique because of this dystopian world that the book took place in. I could also tell that the author wanted to send a message to the reader about how she feels about mankind and climate change because it was all about how mankind was destroying the world with words. Noa Ark wanted to change that by coming up with List, a language that consisted of only 500 words. He was passionate about "saving the world". I'd recommend this book if find it interesting because this book definitely is.-Lena
This book, well no words it absolutely took my breath away. This was a compelling story about a girl who realizes that everything she has been taught may not be true and still be true by other beliefs in a way. The dialogue in this book was different than what I had read before hand. The list a way of speaking with 500 words or less was a great way to shape the story. I think that the author shared her thoughts about climate change in a very clear way. I loved this book and hope you do too!- Annabelle

The Girl  With the Silver Eyes

By: Willo Davis Rogers

This book was really good. It was about a girl who had telekinesis and people discover it while she discovers she is not the only one.  This book is about anyone who has ever felt different and alone.-Norah
This book was a surprise. I originally started reading this because I felt obligated out of courtesy of Norah. But this was a really good book, I found it interesting how the silver eyes more or less showed that she has powers and could do things that we call different. You should read this book.-Annabelle

The Land of Stories: Series

By: Chris Colfer

The land of stories is a good book series for people who love fairy tales and fantasy. I don't usually like fairy-tale based books, but this series was a good exception. It's about twins who find out they can travel to the fairytale world and go on all sorts of adventures to stop villains from taking over. I really liked it and would recommend it to people who are trying to find a fantasy book.-Lena

Geronimo Stilton: The Search For Sunken Treasure

If I had to chose my top 3 favorite book (series) as a child, Geronimo Stilton would definitely be my first choice with Chicka Chicka Boom Boom at second place. Geronimo is a writer / publisher at the Rodent's Gazette. But in this book, he is more than a writer, he is a treasure hunter. When Geronimo's Aunt Sweetfur comes to the Rodent's Gazette to talk about her lost husband / Captain (Geronimo's Uncle Grayfur), and the treasure he left on his ship after it sank. She wants Geronimo, Geronimo's sister Thea, Geronimo's cousin Trap, and Geronimo's favorite nephew Benjamin, to help her find items to help remind her of her lost husband. Is Geronimo and his family up for the challenge? Will they find out what happened to their Uncle Grayfur? Find out by reading, Geronimo Stilton's: The Search For Sunken Treasure. This is my favorite Geronimo Stilton book of all time, and even though I only read about 1/10 of all the Geronimo Stilton Books made by the original author, I have a lot of knowledge about the books. I give this book a rating of 10 out of 10 -Mackenzie

A Hive for the Honeybee

By: Soinbhe Lally

This book was an interesting take on our society as humans. In the beehive this takes place in, the bees are performing one task at a time all day every day. The likeable bees Thorna, Alfred, Mo, and the only slightly less likeable Belle, overcome the challenges of this structured life - and learning what it means to dream. In the end, we all learn that life is like a sip of honey; sweet, but gone all too soon. Good book!-Allie

The Boy, the Bird and the Coffin Maker

By: Matilda Woods

Like I said, Matilda Woods is an amazing writer. This is a book I wouldn't have usually been interested in, but she made it so interesting. I was planning on taking awhile to finish it, but I couldn't stop reading it and ended up finishing in less than two days. ( I didn't have too much time) It was great, and I totally recommend it!-Allie

The Girl Who Sailed the Stars

By: Matilda Woods

Sooooo, after reading this book Matilda Woods became one of my favorite authors. This book was a story of love and acceptance. This story might be boring and slow written by a lesser writer, but Matilda Woods makes it a nice blend and tells you everything you need to know. Needless to say, this was a great book and Matilda Woods is a great writer! (Also this is an amazing book!)-Allie

The Ghost Collector

By: Allison Mills

This books was decent. It was very interesting to read a book about Ghosts. I really didn't understand the point of the ghost and the hair until the middle of the book. I felt bad for Shelly and really wanted her mom to come back. Its a shorter book and is a great quick read.-Bella

Adventures of a Girl Called Bicycle

By: Christina Uss

This was a quick read about a girl traveling across the country to meet her bicycle hero.  And along the way encounters unlikely friends in the form of a ghost, 90 something year old and a bike that talks.  If you like  adventure and fantasy this would be a good book for you. The main characters were great, but the plot not so much.-Norah

Eden's Wish and Eden's Escape

By: M. Tara Crowl

This book is not the best, but it's good if you just want to get a quick read for school out of the way.  It is about a middle school aged genie that wants to be free and figures out how.  But after she escapes she has two groups of older genies after her and one group is good, and one group is bad.-Norah

Upside Down Magic: Series

By: Sarah Mlynowski, E. Lockhart, and Lauren Myracle

This did not take very long to read.  Probably about a half an hour to an hour.  In this alternate world once you turn eleven you gain a power.  There are 5 different powers you could have.  But sometimes those powers go wonky.  This is about a girl and her friends that struggle to fit in and their personal triumphs.-Norah
This series is a quick read. I think there is a movie based off of the book but I am not 100% sure. This book was okay.-Bella

The Girl Who Drank the Moon

By: Kelly Barnhill

This book is soooooooooo good.  It was kind of a complicated plot so I won't get into it.  All you need to know is that it is fast paced, relatable, and beautifully written.-Norah
I absolutely agree with what Norah said it is definitely a weird plot.  At the beginning of the book the whole plot is kind of confusing but once you get past that it speeds ups. I would totally recommend this book. Don't overlook this book.-Annabelle

Keeper of the Lost Cities: Series

By: Shannon Messenger

I loved Keeper of the Lost Cities. It was an intricate blend of humor, suspense, and middle school drama.  If you are looking for the next Harry Potter, here it is.  It is about a girl genius that can read minds, named Sophie, that finds out she is an elf.  I loved this series, after reading the first book I had to read all of them.  My only complaint is that the 2nd and 3rd were a little slow.  Annabelle, Lena, Bella and even my Mom loved it.-Norah

Keeper of the Lost Cities:

Exile #2

By: Shannon Messenger

This book was not the best. It was dull compared to the other books in the series because there was not enough twists and turns in the plot. I love the rest of the series but this book could have been better.  I am not saying that this was a bad book, it was very good but others outranked it. This book did a great job with showing the bonds between characters and it is a great book but once you read all of the other books it isn't good compared to the rest. You have to read this book or you won't know anything in the next book!-Bella
This book was not the best in the series, but moved the story along. It developed a relationship between two characters and followed the intensity of what happened in the last book. If you decide the pick up the series please know every book is just as important as the last.-Delaney

Keeper of the Lost Cities: Everblaze #3

By: Shannon Messenger

This book was very entertaining. When I was reading this book, I would find myself reading very late, but I just couldn't put it down. It was definitely better than the last one and also set the next book up. Even though it feels as though it's not possible, the books just get better as Shannon Messenger writes new ones. Everblaze built relationships and made you realize the mastermind that went behind writing and creating the series. If you haven't yet, READ THIS SERIES!-Delaney
Oh. My. Gosh. MAKE THIS BOOK INTO A MOVIE ALREADY!! This one was probably my favorite out of books 1-7. There was so much action and everything! I know you aren't reading this. If you don't believe how good these are, read it or look at how book 8.5 is the second best selling out of 100 on Barnes and Nobles. It hasn't even come out yet!! This is all preorders. GO READ IT NOW!-Bella

Keeper of the Lost Cities: Flashback #7

By: Shannon Messenger

This book was A-MAZ-ING. The few  romance parts that were there (if you have read the other books this will make sense) you just though "Finally!" You will laugh out loud in any of the books. The first part of the book was a little boring after Sophie and Fitz fought the Neverseen because they were stuck in the hospital but after that, things sped up again. You will be surprised with Alvar at the end, but you probably will feel like that makes sense. You should probably read this book before I spoil any other thing else. Read this book now!-Annabelle
This book was THE BEST BOOK EVER!! You have to read the rest of the series before reading this book or it will be very confusing. It has a bit of romance near the end. The first part of the book could have been better, though the rest of the book was way better than that first part. I don't regret reading this book!GO READ IT NOW!!!-Bella

Keeper of the Lost Cities: Unlocked #8.5

By: Shannon Messenger

This was an awesome book, though not as great as her others. This book was pretty much like an encyclopedia of all of Keeper worlds. She also input a 200-ish page novella which I have to say was amazing. This book definitely leads you up to book 9 all while explaining some things that weren't as explained before. Anyone that loves Keeper of the Lost Cities, you have to read this!-Annabelle
